Assurance of forgiveness

1 John 1:9

"IF WE CONESS OUR SINS, HE IS FATIHFULL AND JUST AND WILL FORGIVE US OUR SINS AND CLEANSE US FROM ALL UNRIGHTEOUSNESS."

On the occasions when we fall to temptation and follow what our sinful body wants, what we see and want, and those things that make us proud Satan, as it were, takes us by the scruff (back) of our necks and rubs
our noses in the dirt, saying:”Now you have really done it! You call yourself a Christian and you
have done a thing like that Christian do not behave like that! What do we do? What can the young Christian
do? Their conscience is already troubling them .the Holy Spirit is already convicting then. Satan is just
making them worse. How can we overcome the feeling of depression? How can e overcome Satan?
1-condition- if The promises of God in his word usually have a condition attached, and this is no exception. We must fulfill the condition and he will do his part, what is the condition?
2-confession-We must confess our sin .the words confess means: to agree together with. We must agree together with God, He is right and I am wrong. We must call sin. `Sin We must recognize “the awful sinfulness of son”. We say we were telling a little, fib, a little, white lie. God call it sin –a lie.
We spend our employers times talking to someone, God call it sin-stealing, not paying back a loan, or
charging someone more then the true amount. God calls it sin –stealing. We must learn to call sine
what God calls it .sin is SIN. We must agree together with God, he is right, I am wrong.
3-Gods Character- God is faithful and fair (just) and He will forgive us our sin. This is Character of God. When we confess our sin s and are truly penitent, then we can reply upon Gods Character.
He is faithful. We have seen this before, Remember? See Lamentations 3:22, 1 Corinthians 10:13.1
Thessalonians 5:24.2 Thessalonians 3:3 Yes! God is faithful. We can reply upon Him .he must
be true to Himself He will not let us down. If we fulfill the condition, He will do His part.
It is one thing to be forgiven .it is quite another to be cleansed. Before we can be restored to fellowship we must be cleansed. Just like the leper who had been healed .he had to be ceremonially washed cleans before the could be received back in to society. In order to be acceptable, we must be cleansed.
4-Cleansing- He will cleanse us from all sin –make us clean. David prayer.”Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me”. The only cleansing agent in the whole of the world that can cleanse us from sin is the Precious Blood of Our Lord Jesus Christ. Shed on Calvary, Shed for rebels, Shed for Sinners, Shed for you and Me. Whiter then snow!! There are 58 shades of white in the world .He make us whiter then Snow. (Biggest white shade in 58) Have you been to Jesus for the Cleansing power? Are you washed in the blood of the Lambs?
5-Comperhensive –All Sin. The story is told of Martin Luther, the German monk (1483-1546), that one day when he was in his call working on his translation of Bible first into Latin and then into German. Satan came to him and showed him a catalogue of the sin he was guilty of in his life. Luther asked:”Is that all?” NO, said
Satan. Here is another long list!”Is that all? Asked Luther. “Yes! Isn’t that enough? Remarked Satan
The story has two ending. 1st- Luther took his ink well and threw it at Satan, and it is said that the mark left by the ink is still on that wall, Today.
2nd- Luther took his pen and wrote across both lists “The Blood of Jesus Christ Gods Son, Cleansed me
from ALL Sins! 
Conclusion Learn 1 John 1:9 believe it! Quote it accurately!
Claim the promise for yourself: have the            
ASSURANCE OF FORGIVENESS.
